Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba: Tapas in Lincoln Park

We all have that one restaurant we like to take our out of town guests to. It has a cool vibe, it’s in a trendy place, and the food is worth every single penny. For me, that restaurant is Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba, a Spanish tapas place located in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago.

If you don’t know, “tapas” (easily misheard for “topless”) are small portions of food, originating from Spain. Basically, they’re like appetizers that you’re supposed to share. It’s a great way to sample the menu without spending a fortune.

Here’s what I love to order at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba:

Spicy Tomatoes with Tomato Aioli - literally my favorite!

Ibérico Ham Croquetas with Sherry Alioli - melts in your mouth

Meatballs with Sherry Tomato Sauce

Paella of Chicken Thighs & Market Vegetables - I typically don’t order paella since I go during happy hour, but this last time I did and it was literally life changing!

Natilla Flan

Butterscotch Custard

Chocolate Truffle

HOT TIP: Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba has an amazing happy hour. They refer to it as “1984”, which also includes 1984 pricing -it’s basically slashed in half. #score Available Monday – Sunday, 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the Bar & Lounge Area only. Walk-ins only.
