7 Most Unique Drink Spots in Chicago

It’s not hard to find a good drink in Chicago. This city is incredible when it comes to food and beverages. But sometimes it’s fun to go out and get something extra special. Or to get something a little extra. Keep reading for the 7 most unique drink spots in Chicago.

Armitage Alehouse

Armitage Alehouse is an old school British meets Indian restaurant. Their menu ranges from items like charred naan to bone marrow pot pie. This is a cozy, chic pub with incredible cool decor. It feels like you’ve stepped back in time but you’re not totally sure where you went. The food and drinks are phenomenal, and so is the atmosphere!

Three Dots and a Dash

If you’re looking for a super fun spot with your friends, Three Dots and a Dash is it! Think tropical underground speakeasy. This dark, underground bar is accessible through an alley strung with lights. Once you find the right door and descend the stairs, you’re transported to a tropical bar with smoking drinks in oceanic drinkware. It’s definitely a unique drink spot in Chicago!

Beatnik

Beatnik is a fun, bohemian spot in Chicago. The decor is charming, slightly tropical, and very earthy and chic. There’s something so comforting about going out to a restaurant and sitting on a couch the entire time. This spot is unique, and they even have a location on the river!

The Berkshire

What makes the Berkshire one of the most unique drink spots in Chicago is that you can order a bartender’s special. Basically you just tell them what you like (or don’t like) and they’ll make a custom drink for you. Ok, maybe this isn’t totally unique in theory, BUT your drink will be totally unique to you.

Gaijin

Gaijin, Japanese for “foreigner,” is a West Loop restaurant specializing in Japanese street-style pancakes. That isn’t the only unique thing on the menu. They have interactive “kaki-tails.” I ordered the , a glass full of shaved ice and topped with a fruit puree, and a separate mini bottle of aviator spirits. I hollowed out some of the shaved ice and poured the spirit in there, helping to create my drink. Not only was it fun and unique, but it was also delicious!

Machine Dining

Have you ever had to crack open your drink with a tiny gold hammer in order to consume it? Well, if that sounds like fun, Machine Engineered Dining is the place for you. If you don’t want to work for your drink, you can still get in on the fun with a unique bird shaped glass.

Barrio

Any drink that gets lit on fire is a win in my book. Barrio is a unique drink spot with a cool light feature. I went with my sister-in-law for her birthday. We ordered some apps, got fiery drinks, and sat by the window people watching. It was so fun!
