Cira: A Mediterranean Chicago Restaurant

One of my go-to places for taking out of town guests is Cira. It’s in a great location (West Loop), has deliciously flavorful food, and has such a cool vibe. It’s Mediterranean-chic. And I love it. It’s located in the Hoxton Hotel, which also has another restaurant on the 4th floor and a bar. Make sure you get yourself here for some great food!

I’ve mostly come for brunch. I love their challah French toast, which includes orange marmalade, milk chocolate almond granola, and tahini whip. Yeah, can’t really go wrong there. I’ve also had their smoked salmon toast, which was pretty good. My friend ordered the Shakshuka - the flavor was amazing!

Personally I think their lattes are just ok (I’m really picky). But my husband and some family ordered cappuccinos and they all loved it. If you’re also picky about coffee, try Good Ambler just a couple blocks away!

Recently I was able to check out their dinner with my sister-in-law. I ordered the Rigatoni All'Amatriciana. I loved the cut of the pasta and it was really flavorful. My sister-in-law ordered the green Pistachio Ravioli, which also tasted really good. It was just a bit warm when it came out, so that was the downside.

Overall I love the vibe here and the food is great. The menus are pretty small but everything on it is delicious! If you have an aversion to loud music in restaurants, I would make sure to come during the day. Dinner time the music is pretty loud - which doesn’t bother me, but if you’re bringing guests or in-laws here, it might hurt their ears.
