Froth: A Trendy New Coffee Shop in the West Loop

Nowadays it seems like there’s a coffee shop everywhere you turn. I’m not complaining, BUT with the market being a bit oversaturated, there’s a higher chance of entering an average/bad one. With that being said, I’m going to point you in the direction of a great one - Froth.

Froth opened up in the lobby of The Duncan - a new apartment complex. The building used to be an old YMCA center. You can actually sneak past the apartment desk attendant pretty easily and explore the grounds. There’s an old basketball court - like old old. It is a circle shape with an elevated running track that looks like it’s going to fall at any moment.

The apartment complex also has a back patio with a movie screen and comfortable seating. It’s probably only for the residents, but if you’re looking for some privacy, go for it!

The lobby of the coffee shop has a gothic Parisian vibe. A big, tarnished mirror stretches along an entire wall. Velvet upholstered couches and chairs invite you to stay a while.

If you’re looking for a bit more brightness, you can wander outside. There is plenty of seating in wicker chairs, hydrangea plants cascading around them. It’s really inviting and great for long conversations.

Now to the coffee. Froth has standard coffee beverages, “frothtails,” and alcoholic drinks. Both times I have gotten the Dalgona Iced Coffee and both times I have loved it. It’s topped off with a bit of toffee, which slowly disintegrates while you’re drinking, which makes it sweeter as you go.

As for food, I’ve had The General sandwich, which is both sweet and savory. It’s a good size, so I felt filled up for the rest of the morning.

Froth is a great coffee shop in a really unique location. Their food and drink options are special and I guarantee you’ll enjoy yourself!
