Pants that Aren’t Denim - And How to Style Them

Some of the questions I’ve received are like the following: “How do you find your style after high school/college?” “How do you look like an adult?” “How do you dress your age?” A good way to dress your age and feel put together is to find your personal style. Another good way to feel like an adult is to wear pants that aren’t denim.

I basically live in denim once the cool temps hit, but spring and summer are great seasons to experiment with different pants. Here is a list of my favorite pants to wear.

Leather Pants

Leather is a hot trend right now, so hop on it and try some leather pants! I have a pair from H&M, and a pair from Ann Taylor. You can style these casually with a graphic tee, or tuck in a nice shirt or sweater for a more professional look.

Wide Leg Trousers

I love a good wide leg pant, especially ones with a good 70s vibe. I got these orange pants from Target. Not only are they comfortable, but they’re easy to style. I recommend tucking in whatever top you pair with pants like this (or wear a crop top).

Cropped Capri Pants

Cropped capri pants are a good summer option for pants that aren’t denim. Lightweight material is much easier to breathe in. These pants have a 50s vibe. Style them as you would wide leg pants.

Elastic Waist Pants

Elastic waist pants are the most comfortable pants on this list. Despite the name, they actually are pretty easy to dress up! You can wear these with a semi-tucked sweater, or grab a crop top and call it a day.

Cargo Pants

Another great choice for pants that aren’t denim is cargo pants. Go for the ones with a cinched waist, especially since the pockets tend to be bulky on the sides. I got these ones from Aerie.

Hopefully this blog helps you realize how easy it is to style and find pants that aren’t denim. They’re comfortable, versatile, and chic!
